DPM Engineer

-At least 4 to 5 years
experience
with Microsoft platforms.
-Thorough understanding of windows 2003 server within and Active
Directory
domain is necessary.
-This person must be able to work without too much guidance and develop a taylored low level
backup/archiving solution/design for the IPTV datacenter environments Alcatel works on.
-Integration with Microsoft's MOM will also be an aspect of the job.

-As stated the product Microsoft put forward is DPM and there are also a number of MS SQL (2005, 2000) databases that are clustered on MSCS clusters.
Establishing regular backup schedules for these databases is a priority in this task

-Good technical writing skills is a must.
-Good communications skills in a fast moving environment will also be
required.

=The focus is of course to have an acceptable backup solution for the IPTV platform.
- First priority is the SQL-server database-backup solution using the SQL server native tools.

-Certification is a + but if it's up to me it's not mandatory. Proven experience within a complex Microsoft only environment is more
relevant.
