Working as a Java Developer with Alexsys Bosh, you will be assisting in delivery of high quality solutions to clients in response to specific business requirements.You will develop technical skills and you shoul absorb professional knowledge quickly. You will perform assigned technical tasks including study, analysis, programming, product installation.
The ideal candidate has to be an experienced Java developer and should have an IT degree, would preferably have some experience in IBM WebSphere-based products and a strong background in web-based development.
A candidate for this position must be able to work in a varied, fast paced environment.
The candidate must also possess strong time management as well as organisational and communication skills.
Key responsibilities may include:
To design, implement, unit-test, maintain and document software;
To design and develop robust, scalable, high-quality software;
To do on and off-site consulting engagements;
To assist customers with design, development and deployment on WebSphere-based platform;
To bespoke development projects from initial requirements gathering through to delivery and suppor;
To pre-sale engagements, including PoCs and PoTs and customer demonstrations;
To work within both large and small project teams, in close knit and disparate teams;
To keep up to date with relevant technologies, including formal and informal education as well as certifications;
To become involved in the full application development lifecycle.
Candidates must have the following skills:
Experience in of development for WebSphere-based environments (preferably
candidates will be IBM certified).
Experience in Java and web-based development, including an in-depth understanding of
J2EE architectures, Servlet lifecycles, JSPs and custom tag libraries.
Experience of Eclipse based development platforms.
Experience of Object Oriented approaches to development, including patterns.
In-depth understanding of Java based Application Servers, especially WebSphere
Application Server.
Mentoring and training skills.
Strong self motivation and goal setting skills
The ability to manage your own time as well as ensuring team members in your project
team are productive, as well as responding to other pressures outside your control.
An overall understanding of the business motivations and drivers for Portal products,
and the ability to present and discuss software and solutions in strategic terms with non-
technical staff up to director level.
An understanding of the sales and marketing process and the ability to work hand-in-
hand with non-technical staff members in producing demos, presentations and collatera
Experience within the following areas would be preferred:
Experience of open source frameworks (such as Jakarta commons, Java Server Faces and
Struts), and how they can assist in rapid solution development.
Knowledge of WebSphere Application Server including Administration (preferably
candidates will be IBM certified).
Knowledge of WebSphere Portal Server including Administration (preferably candidates
will be IBM certified).
Knowledge of WebSphere Process Server including Administration (preferably
candidates will be IBM certified).
Experience of IBM Web Content Management.
Experience of WebSphere Portlet Factory and its use in rapid portal development.
Understanding of the implications of clustered application deployment.
Approaches to storage of transient data, and the performance implications thereof.
Web design skills including cascading style sheets and Web2.0 technologies
