In the meat factory in Amsterdam they have a conveyor-belt were they can work with 23 workers.
They slaughter only cows (beef)
When the cows come into the abattoir, the first job is to shoot them. This job will be done by their own workers because this is a precise job.
The job / skills for the slaughters
- When the cow hang on the conveyor-belt they will pull of the skin from the cow. This goes with a machine and only one workers will help to remove the skin. He use for this job a air tool.
- Than they saw the cow open.
- The viscere will be taking out. They use a knife for this job.
- Than one very imported thing is to take the first stomach out. To do this, you must tie up the top of the first stomach so that nothing comes out. Because when the shit will come in contact with the meat, they can throw the whole cow away
- They also saw the four feet form the skeleton
- They cut the meat out of the head of the cow.
These are the most imported things the slaughters will do .
The slaughter can do one or more things in this process but imported is that they have experience in this job because when one worker is slow, the rest of the team must wait while the conveyor-belt keeps running

This is the first man in the production line and remove the bones out of the fore feet and back feet and split the meat in big parts
The meat goes with a conveyer belt through the factory
The new workers must know that when they don???t have the skills for this work, the must go back home on there own cost.
The candidate must take his own steel hand clove.
We know that it???s difficult to find good bone cutters and we always call the reference to inform about the skills.
The salary is between ??? 9,- and ??? 11,- It all depend of the quality
The meat cutter
This man will get the big parts of meat from the bone cutter and he will remove the meat which is not good and he will separate the different parts of meat from each other. After the meat cutter has done his job the meat goes to the fleece worker.
Start salary ??? 9,- when the meat cutter is good he can earn more, depending of the skills
The fleece worker.
This man will separate the thin fleece from the meat.

For all this professions it???s necessary to have good experience. We have seen before that they come to Holland for this job, but in the factory we can see that they not always are good. An interview and checking reference is a must to find quality.
Times of working
Starting time 05.00 uur
Thirst brake 06.00 uur (than every two hour.)
Daily they work approximately 8 hours
