MAIN PURPOSE:
To deliver a ready to go to customer Wimax product, named release Wx, according to committed standards/specifications, performing all the associated tasks that are necessary in order to accomplish this purpose
WIMAX SYSTEM INTEGRATION ENGINEER
The description of the activity is composed of many phases:
- Participation to STF (Specification Task Force) working groups;
- Participation to TTF (Test Task Force) as main actors; define/produce the necessary tools to be used in System testing activity (Test Strategy, Test Plans, Test Cases definition and detailed writing); define the Test platform configuration and needs.
- Participation to SPI’s (System Pre-Integrations) under the responsibility of Sub-systems
- Participation to Methods validation
- Main actor in the System Integration phase of the complete software package on Wimax release Wx
- Main actor in the Maintenance phase, during Field Trial/Pilot Phase, up to General Deployment of the Release Wx on the Customer networks
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Analysis of sub-system and system specifications
- Responsibility for the coverage of the test plans defined and for the content of test cases written
- Responsible for the test results in front of other Alcatel-Lucent party’s or in front of the customer, by case
- Main mission to found, investigate (trace analysis on all subsystems and on interfaces between them), track the evolution/correction (with associated tools), re-test of the correction
- ARTS handling: write correct description of fault reports, FR/CR checking;
- Support to customer/other Alcatel-Lucent party’s during Maintenance phase (including Layer3 support); reactivity to urgent problems or crisis on the field is mandatory

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
mandatory
- knowledge of the following protocols: TCP/IP, SNMP, ICMP , HTTP, DHCP, FTP
- relevant experience in O&M or Telecom sub-system test (minimum 1 year)
- Linux/Unix usage
- languages: English (read, write, speak)- at least medium
- good communication spirit due to the links between all the different teams from specifications to designers and final customers
- flexibility, adaptability to changing situations and tasks
- ability to work under pressure (customer) and ability to deal with customer on the field
nice to have:
- Network knowledge: OSI stack, routers, switches
- good understanding of the Wimax system and topology
- trace analysis (for different sub-systems and on interfaces between them)
- relevant experience in O&M or Telecom sub-system test
