Transmission Engineer is responsible for the following tasks but not limited to: integration, configuration, re-parenting and migration of routes, MUX configuration. It assists the field staff for the integration / configuration of the site, knowledge of SDH / PDH technology is mandatory and knowledge of IP technology is a plus.
The engineer ensures ongoing best practices are applied as well as the latest client instructions. Teams capitalize on past experiences by sharing them internally. Moreover it is the main contact with people "Front Office" in the case escalation is necessary and "reporting".
Duties and Responsibilities
- Configuration management of network elements.
- Management of operations planning.
- Management of assets ("Backlog") production.
- The rapid escalation and notification of incidents during operations.
- To ensure that telecom services are built into the contractual deadlines.
- To provide a rapid return to customers in relation to common questions.
- Preventive/corrective maintenance (regular tasks / incidents)
- Creating, updating and following all the tickets
- Good knowledge of SDH / PDH, knowledge of IP represents an advantage
- Relevant experience in working with SDH / PDH environments (the number of years of experience in the target field will determine the candidates' seniority)
English and French language skills (at least medium level)
- Rigorous spirit in the transactions, particularly in following technical instructions and reporting.
- Understanding the general principles of networks and telecommunications principles.
- Flexibility in working "Non Business Hours" exceptionally.
- Control of quality of communication during a crisis situation (stay focused on the objective information & communicate in real time);
- Ability to work in teams;
- Critical thinking and ability to adapt quickly to a new operation
