THE JOB IS LOCATED IN TIMISOARA.
The Solution Architect is responsible for the vision that encapsulates the aspirations of the customer and provides a tangible design that meets those aspirations. The Solution Architect becomes involved with a project at the time that the customer (and account manager) is developing requirements. They remain involved throughout the execution of the project.
The essence of the Solution Architect role is primarily:
-the gathering and collating of requirements; and
- the translation of those requirements into an architecture and design that will become the blueprint for the solution being created.
These capabilities will be based largely upon the previous designs that the SA has been involved with in the past as a result of personal experience, through reading and staying abreast of the latest techniques (training, seminars, etc.). However, a key component of the SA activity is the interaction with other SAs through the sharing of information and peer review. The Solution Architect:
Understands the end-user’s current & future expectations and needs and acts as the advocate and trusted advisor of the network operator in its future strategy and positioning.
Understands and captures input from decision makers, technical and operations staff;
Obtains details of the customer’s current environment and the Present Mode of Operation. Analyses this input, together with perceived market expectations, and translates them into a set of detailed requirements providing a variety of solutions that meet complex customer needs (business, operational, functional and regulatory) in the most cost-effective way.
Applies solution architecture methodology, best practices, processes and principles to create value for the customer in an innovative way. Maintains the integrity of the solution over time; verifies that the solution meets the customer’s implicit, explicit and dynamic requirements ensuring that up-scopes are subject to carefully considered change control procedures.
Identifies problems and risks early; explicitly highlights obstacles and proposes actions to address them. Assists in identifying options and prioritizing trade-offs such as lead time, cost and quality. Develops the full scope of the solution, working across organizations to achieve workable end-to-end solutions.

Displays broad technology awareness and specific knowledge of technologies in some of the following domains:
- NMS/OSS/BSS
- Security
- Software
- Voice telecommunications
- Video
- Specific Technologies:
Wireline: IP, Access Aggregation, Home Networking, Wired Access, Cable, Packet Transport, Transmission
Convergence: MPLS, IMS, IPTV
Wireless: Mobile, Radio, Transmission
Enterprise: Enterprise (Voice + MM)
The Solution Architect is expected to build the scope of their knowledge gradually over time. From the time of their appointment they will have a broad understanding of telecommunications technology. Expertise in specific Technologies will usually start with knowledge of a few aspects of the technology (eg. Access Aggregation in the Wireline domain) This will gradually build to encompass the full domain (e.g. Wireline).
Displays broad product knowledge and specific knowledge of products such as:
- Applications
- Carrier Ethernet and IP Routing
- Convergence/IMS
- Network Service Management and OSS
- Specific Products:
Wireline
Wireless
Convergence
OSS/BSS
Enterprise
Services
Product knowledge will evolve in the same fashion as Technology Knowledge.
