For the Engineering Location in Timisoara we search for dynamic and motivated people to join our Safety & Chassis Electronics department.
We provide the automotive industry with a wide range of innovative components and comprehensive system skills in the field of restraint systems and safety electronics. From super-compact to luxury limousine and top-of-the-line sports car, we have been a proven partner for intelligent airbag electronics, highly accurate crash sensors, and innovative occupant sensing systems for over 15 years.
The product range includes: Airbag Control Units and Sensors, Occupant Detection Systems, Components for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Smart Protection for Pedestrians.
In order to ensure its leading position as supplier for Automotive Industry, Siemens VDO is using state of the art techniques in Software Development.
In the Software Support team, we continuously improve and develop new scripts for our tools, in order to meet the needs of our Software Engineers in their day-to-day work.
We offer support for more than 500 Engineers spread in different locations worldwide. You will work in close interaction with them, sharing your knowledge and customizing our tools.
As a Software Support Engineer your responsibilities will be to:
- assure support for our Software Development tools
- maintain and develop new scripts for these tools
- perform support tasks, required by projects, regarding Configuration and Change Management or Requirement Engineering
- perform administration tasks for tools, in order to ensure smooth running of these tools in our environment
- train the users for a proper usage of Software Development tools
- maintain and improve the integration between the tools
After an initial training phase which will familiarize you with our products, tools, processes and organization, a mentor will support you to stepwise take over your own responsibilities.
- University degree in a relevant field (i.e. Computer science, Electronics, Informatics...)
- Knowledge of C, Perl, Shell scripts
- Knowledge of operating systems (WinXP, UNIX)
- Good communication and team skills
- Good writing, reading and speaking English skills
Experience with the following tools would be a plus:
- Configuration & Change Management tools (e.g. PVCS, Telelogic Synergy)
- Requirement Engineering tools (e.g. Telelogic Doors)
- Test Engineering tools (e.g. Mercury Quality Center – Test Director)
