As Software Product Manager, you will be in charge of the controlling software for a new liquid handling workstation, used for biotechnological and pharmaceutical analysis. You will improve the software by defining new releases based on new ideas, your industry experience, and your contacts with customers and prospects. You show a strong business attitude along with detailed technical understanding, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You enjoy spending time in the market to understand current problems, and find innovative solutions. You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company:
· To work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer
· To work with an engineering counterpart to define software release requirements as well as the interfaces between the hard- and software of the product
· To teach internal and external customers on the software package and distribute knowledge over multiple channels. You will be responsible for the training organization for your software product
· To serve as the internal and external evangelist for you’re the software offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.
· To support international sales and application teams on using the software.
· 3+ years of software marketing/product management experience.
· Knowledgeable in technology, preferably in our industry segment.
· Computer Science or Engineering degree
· Understanding of biological processes
· This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America and Europe (15%).
· Excellent English skills, additional German skills will be a plus
