RESPONSABILITATI

Our company has developed a comprehensive media asset management system that allows HD and SD content to be stored digitally within a hierarchical storage infrastructure and then moved seamlessly to specified locations throughout the broadcast facility. With its built-in file transformation capabilities, our product can automatically create a low resolution proxy, re-wrap and transcode content, at speeds faster than real-time, seamlessly along the way to its final destination.

Our product includes features such as content management; efficient file based media delivery and archiving; and active integration to various end-points including nearline disk storage, video servers, and non-linear editing tools.

We are looking to hire an intermediate level software engineer to help us add new features to this key component of our product line. The successful candidate will help sustain the current implementation and develop features outlined in our product roadmap to help us take this cornerstone product to the next level.

The successful candidate will:

Develop and review functional design specifications and provide feedback during the planning stages.
Design, develop, designer test, and document software modules based upon design specifications and reported issues.
Review test strategies and test plans.
Provide manager and/or group leader with regular status reports.
Follow the departmental processes and standards.


CERINTE

Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Proven experience developing Java multi-threaded programs using J2EE technologies (JMS, servlets, JDBC, etc.) in distributed enterprise systems.
Proven experience using a source control management system and feature/defect tracking systems (such as MKS) and/or preferably a Continuous Integration environment (such as Subversion/Tracs/Hudson).
Proven experience developing, documenting, and maintaining design specifications.
Proven ability to review test strategies and test plans.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Good knowledge of relational databases with exposure to Oracle and/or MS SQL Server.
Strong experience using Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
Must have a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Must have a minimum of three years relevant experience.



Nice to Have:

Programming experience with Objective-C and/or C/C++/C# Windows .NET programs in distributed enterprise systems.
Broadcast Industry experience.
Experience with UNIX (Solaris, Linux) Operating Systems.
Ability to assess the priority and severity of issues by understanding business objectives, technical costs, and user needs.
Understand UML concepts.
