Release Management undertakes the planning, design, build, configuration and testing of hardware and software to create a set of release components for a live environment. Activities also cover the planning, preparation and scheduling of a release.
From this position your resposabilities will include the following:
– Release policy and planning
– Release design, build and configuration
– Release acceptance
– Rollout planning
– Extensive testing to predefined criteria
– Sign off of the release for implementation
– Communication, preparation and training
– Audits of hardware and software prior to and following the implementation of changes
– Installation of new or upgraded hardware
– Storage of controlled software in both centralized and distributed systems
– Release, distribution and the installation of software
Our successful candidate should have the following abilities & know how:
- Extensive Windows Server 2003, 2008 experience and/or Microsoft certified e.g. MCSE
- Ability to work autonomously and sustain individual performance under pressure
- Excellent communication and customer care skills
- Proficient in Business English
- Understanding of ITIL Service Delivery and Support disciplines and methodologies
- Team skills, results and quality orientation, customer focus, ability to learn, good organizing skills
- Basic trouble ticketing system knowledge
- Availability to travel abroad for training on the job
Experience with the following is considered an advantage:
- Terminal Services and Citrix administration
- Virtualization (VMware)
- SCCM, Altiris
- SCOM 2007, MOM 2005
- Knowledge of UNIX technologies
