An opportunity to join one of the world’s most successful tier one automotive suppliers. TRW posted record financial results in 2010 and is now looking for a highly experienced individual to drive improvement in production output during initial product launches and capacity uplifts. Working with local teams across all European Steering Operations facilities, you will directly support production operations and facilitate the development of strategic action plans to deliver operational objectives, whilst ensuring quality standards are in line with both customer and TRW expectations.

What you’ll do

• Ensure any deviation from targeted capacity increases, productivity uplifts and quality requirements is dealt with quickly and efficiently in line with TRW and customer expectations
• Regularly review manning levels, operators skills and training and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) to ensure they are sufficient to fulfil customer requirements, whilst enabling the team to balance available resources effectively
• Ensure manufacturing capabilities are considered early in the product life cycle to ensure a successful launch and robust product design
• Drive product design and proposed manufacturing solutions in line with both TRW and customer expectations
• Provide on-site involvement in coaching, facilitating and training local teams towards smooth product launches and capacity uplift activities
• Working with the European Operations Development team to establish a site focused product launch strategy


CERINTE

Essential:
• Practical background in industrial or process engineering
• Significant supervisory experience in production and manufacturing (process, people & materials)
• Able to work with limited supervision in demanding circumstances
• Dynamic, flexible and able to work under pressure
• Able to use own judgement and make decisions swiftly
• Excellent communication skills
• Good organisational skills
• Willing and able to travel globally on a frequent basis
• Degree in engineering, ideally manufacturing engineering

Desirable:
• Proven track record in production supervision & methodologies at a senior level
• Broad understanding of operations and projects
