1. The primary responsibility for this role is to act as the key responsible engineer for test and validation activities (electrical, EMC and environmental only, this does not include software testing) on our projects (meters and electronics products). This includes, but is not limited to:
a. To interface with our customers to clarify test and validation requirements on the projects
b. To interface with design engineers to assure all test and validation needs are taken into consideration into overall test and validation plans on the projects
c. To establish the validation plans for the validation activities:
- Collect all test and validation needs and requirements
- Establish detailed plans and descriptions for test and validation activities
- Negotiate and book test facilities (in-house and external)
• Interface with test facilities to clarify all test and validation requirements
d. To specify, design and develop test equipment (e.g. functional checkers) required to monitor the products under test before, during and after actual tests.
2.To interface with test houses required for outsourced test activities, including:
a. Assessments of the test facilities suitability for Yazaki’s needs
b. To prepare the test specifications detailing the test requirements
c. To participate in test activities as required to assure test results are acceptable
d. To assess and review test results to assure correctness
3.To coordinate and assure suitable test equipment is specified, designed, developed and commissioned for our meter and electronics production lines.
4.To proactively contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvements of the department’s quality assurance system with particular focus on validation activities
Minimum:
Batchelor Degree in Engineering.
3 years experience with testing and validation of embedded electronics applications.
Good knowledge of automotive test and validation requirements in the area of electrical, EMC and environmental.
Good knowledge of test methods, tools and equipments
Presentation preparation and delivery skills
General knowledge about software, hardware and mechanical engineering principles, technologies and tools for meter and electronics design and development.
Fully versant in PC operations (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
Fluent in English.
Able to undertake travels and stay away from home (Europe and the world).
Preferably:
Master of Science degree in electronics or mechanical engineering.
Experience , preferably within the automotive sector.
Experience with automotive networks and tools (CANalyzer, CANoe).
Experience with writing test scripts for software operation.
