RESPONSABILITATI

WDM Product Engineer – EON & 400G optical products

The WDM Product Engineer will provide current engineering support the EON and 400G optical product complex assemblies that are manufactured at ALU manufacturing facilities in Trieste, Italy. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that all ALU Industrial Engineering product data management, engineering and supply chain management objectives are met. The major responsibilities include:

- Primary interface between Development, Supply Chain, Operations, reliability, Product Management and ALU Trieste for addressing complex assembly manufacturing related issues.
- Product Engineer will be responsible for addressing issues from NPI through EOL phases.
- Have responsibility for managing product data via PDM and or Agile. Will be responsible for entering ECOs and participating in Change Control Review Boards.
- Will be responsible for conducting Industrial Engineering reviews for an significant redesigns or new releases to confirm design integrity and manufacturability.
- Will be responsible for determining appropriate action for addressing Discontinued components by either following up with Development regarding redesign activities or conducting component Last Time Buy analyses and execution on purchase of material.
- Support Operations organization in addressing any engineering issues that are impacting customer deliveries along with attending production check meetings if needed.
- Determine when to implement and follow through on product qualification lots and review results.
- Provide training to EMS as required.
- Support product transitions to other manufacturing facilities.
- Initiate and track Supplier Corrective Actions Requests (SCAR’s) through the process to ensure timely quality closure. Validate that product is not shipped until closure of SCAR or written approval is provided by ALU.
- Track production yield and support any yield improvement activities.
- Review any non conforming material, particularly the high cost optical devices for disposition. Require that material designated for junk be held for review by the Industrial Engineering team member and if required sent for further analysis and repair through the ALU engineering lab or optics vendor.


CERINTE

BS in an Engineering Discipline

10 years of work experience in New Product Introduction or sustaining engineering of complex Telecommunications equipment, including applicable safety and EMI/EMC standards. Fluent English written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to work effectively in a diverse discipline team environment. International travel will be required. Ability to support engineering teams at remote locations. Advanced knowledge of MS Office ( MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint). Experience in conducting DFX reviews, Pro Engineer, Agile and PDM is a plus.
