The Wireless Tools & Expertise group is in charge of providing pre-sales expertise and tools to Alcatel-Lucent engineers for Radio Design, Radio Planning, Network Architecture and Tendering in order to increase the efficiency and quality of offers. In terms of radio technologies, the scope includes GSM/EDGE, WiMAX, UMTS / HSPA / 3G LTE, CDMA and DVB-SH/DVB-H.
- Maintain and develop Network Design methods in line with product evolutions, operator feedback, field feedback and designer needs
- Contribute to network design tools definition and validation (functional specifications, local follow-up of the software development, testing)
- Provide feedback to PLM (Product Line Manager) to influence product strategy based on customer feedback, competition analysis and network design analysis
- Develop and maintain competition analysis from a network design perspective
- Promote Alcatel-Lucent solutions & network design expertise through workshops & conferences
- Train Network Design teams
- Develop and maintain means to capitalize and share information within the Network Design community
- Follow-up pre-sales activities (offers, trials…), esp. providing daily support and organizing Design Strategy meetings and Design
- Technical University degree, preferable in Telecommunications
- Very good knowledge of wireless networks, especially WiMAX (knowledge of GSM is a plus).
- Good knowledge of generic radio network design methods & tools
- English – advanced both written and spoken. French is a plus.
