JOB SUMMARY

The GNOC (Global Network Operations Center) is the technical network interface for the network owners and their customers; ensuring our customer’s networks and their customers’ services are operating at an optimum level, while retaining and improving the expected network standards and integrity.
The GNOC NCC (Network Control Center) engineers use their technical skills and knowledge of systems and procedures within the GNOC to monitor customers’ networks and services. Their primary aim is to maximize network availability for their customers. The engineer provides network monitoring & surveillance, initial troubleshooting and maintenance escalation. This effort is directed at resolving technical problems associated with customer networks.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Following EH&S guidelines and company policies to ensure safety & well-being of own and team members
• Participating in the GNOC’s on-call and 24x7 shift rosters
• Prompt escalation & notification of major network faults and customer faults as per the “GNOC Escalation Guideline”
• Professionally utilizing GNOC systems and procedures to monitor and maintain customer network availability & integrity
• Ensure network faults and customer faults are resolved well within agreed SLAs
• Accurate & timely creation, updating and completion of all Trouble Tickets
• Provide prompt and regular feedback to customers in relation to on-going issues
• Tracking and directing the workflow of faults and planned events
• Assisting GNOC members with escalated cases
• Checking all Trouble Tickets to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Ensuring customer & company directives are properly executed by enforcing local procedures Mentoring of team members to achieve team’s KPIs
• Producing network incident and periodic reports


CERINTE

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or telecommunications, or relevant and sufficient experience equivalent
- 2+ years experience in operational environment or relevant and sufficient educational equivalent or
- 1+ year experience in customer service delivery
- 6+ months experience in English communication in working environment


• In-depth understanding of networking or telecommunications principles.
• Detailed knowledge of one or more of the following technologies:
• radio elements, 2G and 3G
• core elements: circuit switched and packet switched
• transmission elements: PDH, SDH, WDM
• value added services: SMS, MMS, VM,….
• Mobil Network experience on Nokia, Siemens or Ericsson will be an advantage.
• Fluency in English (both oral and written).
• Fluency in at least one of the following European languages: German, French, Italian.
