The Position:
Reporting to the Materials Quote Manager, the candidate will be working as a member of the European
Quotes Team, along with the Commodity and Sales group in an effort to secure business for Flextronics.
The job requires a good understanding of BOM structures and negotiating skills with Mechanical Supply Base in support of our manufacturing sites located throughout Europe.
Duties
Use database systems and Various Quotation tools for quoting mechanical parts from customer BOMs
Complete Materials pricing to tight deadlines.
Help maximize Quoting / Purchasing power by identifying cost reductions.
Support improvement in the response time to the customer.
A qualification in a Mechanical Engineering Discipline or Strong experience in a Mechanical /Electronic discipline. Consideration will also be given to Buyer with Purchasing Experience of Mechanical parts.
Experience dealing with Fabricated Mechanical parts such as Rolled, Pressed, Punched and plated and ideally be familiar with the various fabrication processes and European suppliers of these parts.
The position will also have responsibility for Cables, Packaging and Printed Matter and Hardware / Fasteners.
Have the ability to understand Fabrication drawings for these types of components and to be able to converse with the Manufacturers of these components on a technical and commercial level.
Supplier negotiations, Purchasing and/or Materials Experience a distinct advantage.
Good with Excel and Database software tools. Experience with CAD Software such as PRO-E would be a distinct advantage.
Be willing to work on own initiative, with great attention to detail. Will require ability to work with external departments (Global Quotations, Commodity Management etc) and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
