RESPONSABILITATI

Design, development and evaluation testing of electronics hardware for instrument clusters, body electronics modules and smart power distribution units:
- To plan and follow-up the electronics hardware development in our projects.
- Design & develop electronics hardware for clusters, body control and smart J/Bs with focus on cost efficiency and design for manufacturing
- Evaluate chosen design directions and confirm their suitability
- Preparing and issuing of documentation of the electronics hardware design, evaluation testing, release, etc.
- Discuss electronics hardware design strategies, procedures and solutions with customer.
- Interface and communicate with other participating Yazaki hardware engineering organisations
- Interface with component suppliers to assure cost efficient and high quality product performance.
Liaise with outsourcing suppliers:
- Assess suppliers capability to participate in development projects
- Monitor supplier development processes,
- Ensure requirements are understood and delivered hardware design is meeting Yazaki’s .needs in terms of quality, costs and timing.
- Define deliverables from the outsourced supplier.
Assume the project role of lead hardware design engineer in quotation activities where duties include:
- Deciding microprocessor concepts and other hardware components (memory sizes, external reset circuitry, wake-up circuits, etc…)
- Estimating resource requirements (memory, clock, ports, etc…)
- Estimating development lead-times.
- Prepare and present chosen electronics hardware design strategies and development procedures to customers.
- Estimating hardware development and testing costs.
To act as a mentor for the hardware engineers in the department.
To evaluate and select hardware test, evaluation and development tools.


CERINTE

Minimum:
Electronics Engineering Degree.
5 years experience with hardware design of electronics components.
Hardware design for automotive electronics control units.
Very good knowledge with hardware design tools for schematics capture and simulation (Orcad, etc)
Knowledgeable in the EMC field
Knowledge of power and thermal management
Basic understanding of electronics software design
Basic understanding of mechanical design (CAD)
Fully versant in PC operations (Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Very good understanding of electronics components market cost levels.
Good understanding of electronics manufacturing.
Fluent in English.
Able to demonstrate good problem solving skills (analytical).
Self sufficient, self-motivated and team-player.
Able to undertake occasional travel in Europe and the rest of the world.

Preferably:
Masters Degree in Electronics.
Experience with instrument cluster design.
Experience with smart junction boxes and body electronics design.
Experience with manufacturing of electronics control units.
Knowledge of microprocessor for embedded applications.
Design to cost.
Knowledge of LCD and display technologies.
Knowledge of PCB technologies.
Knowledge of communication protocols for the automotive market (e.g. CAN, J1850, etc).
