Job description:
The job of an applications engineer/ inside sales is to achieve and maintains rapport with customers, developing customer base, emphasizing product features and benefits, discussing terms and providing pricing quotations.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Receives requests for quotation, orders, and lead times from customers;
- Responding to and processing incoming calls and orders;
- Opening new accounts and maintaining existing customer base;
- Providing basic technical support on products;
- Attending industry conferences to develop industry expertise and to build network;
- Confers with engineers, managers, customers, and others to discuss the project, prepare documents, or modify contract schedules;
- Reviews and verifies project documents for completeness, format and compliance with contract requirements;
- Submit project documentation to management for approval, and transmits approved documents to the customer;
- Researching, collecting and reporting information on the capacity and ability of company products and its competing equipments;
- Negotiates terms of sale and controls the execution of orders;
- Participates in the feedback of information on market conditions, and on the performance of competing products.
- Technical studies in Mechanical Engineering.
- Willing to travel (5-10% of the time);
- Technically orientated, aptitude and enthusiasm for making contacts, good organization, self-motivated, tenacious, good negotiating and deal-making skills.
- Have excellent communication skills ;
- Strong verbal and written abilities with the English language;
- Have the ability to present technical material to customers.
- Highly proficient level computer skills including Ms Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook.
- Highly energetic and self-starter.
- Must be Internet savvy and comfortable with using the Web as a research tool.
- Must feel comfortable interacting with senior corporate executives.
