-The role is for a developer of both internally utilised and client facing applications. It requires creativity, flexibility and high quality standards. It also involves all phases of the project lifecycle, but will be predominantly focused on development.
-The role will involve a mixture of Java server and client-side development, web development and database (Oracle) development. It will have deep exposure to open source frameworks such as Spring & Hibernate as well as JDBC and JMS.
-Prior financial or preferably Exchange Traded Derivatives experience would be advantageous.
Requirements:
- Strong Java skills (deep knowledge of core Java)
- Strong Java web & JEE skills (JDBC/JMS)
- Strong Spring framework skills (IoC container, WebFlow and MVC, data access with JDBC & Hibernate)
- Automated testing (unit testing, integration testing, use of stub/mock object frameworks, Spring integration testing support)
- Knowledge of object oriented design and common GoF design patterns
-Experience with ORM (e.g. Hibernate)
- Knowledge of build technologies (Ant, Ivy, Maven)
- Database Development (preferably with Oracle 9i/10g)
- Knowledge of Subversion
- Ability to work with Unix/Linux
Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge of Scrum or other Agile methodologies
- Continuous Integration and CI build servers (e.g. Team City)
- Domain-driven design
- Oracle performance tuning
- Tomcat deployment and configuration
- Experience of the trade lifecycle and the trade booking lifecycle
