The person must have an engineering degree, minimum of 10 years experience as a drilling engineer and strong English language skills (spoken and written). Preference will be given to persons with rig experience
The Senior Drilling Engineer report directly to and liaise with the Drilling Manager. When on the rig site, they report to the Drilling Supervisor. Senior Drilling Engineers are responsible for the planning of and reporting on completed well construction projects, for development, appraisal and exploration wells, well interventions for ESP change-outs and wire-line data gathering interventions.
Primary duty is to offer assistance to the Drilling Manager in planning and executing ongoing and planned drilling and workover activities.
When assigned to rig duty, assist the Drilling Supervisor with the day-to-day drilling, completion, workover and well testing activities as required.
Prepare drilling programs, completion programs, workover programs, well testing programs, end of well reports and other reports as required.
Design and plan wells to include AFE's, casing design, cementing programs, etc.
Ensure the availability of all materials and equipment for each well.
Benchmarking of drilling operations.
Assist the Operations Manager, as required, in Production Engineer especially with ESP's.
Discuss results of previous operations as well as upcoming operations and plans with the Drilling Manager.
Review past operations and make recommendations to improve future efficiency.
