Rotating Equipment Engineer: To execute, supervise, and coordinate the activities related to the overhaul of rotating equipment in all plants within Gasco. The Rotating Equipment Machinery is the driving force in developing and shaping the shutdown planning of all GASCO plants. Unscheduled shutdowns as a result of machinery trips may cause considerable production losses, and the failure of such equipment, if severe, may seriously affect the safety of the personnel and/or the integrity of the gas plants. Furthermore, any upset to GASCO’s production as a result of unreliable machinery will affect other onshore oil and gas operating companies and depending on the severity, loss of production from both the oil and gas operating companies can be incurred. In order to maintain the normal level of production, maximum care in developing the maintenance practices and the overhaul requirements must be exercised by the job holder. As GASCO has been in operation for over 20 years, most machinery within the plants have already accumulated considerable running hours. A major challenge for the jobholder is to properly assess & review these aged equipment and provide proper action plan that mitigates any risk associated with ageing. As most rotating machinery within GASCO have already accumulated considerable running hours, replacement of aged parts/components is a serious matter that require careful evaluation in order to ensure that replacement is made at optimum life limits with no risk to the operating plants. Due to the integration of many major rotating equipment manufacturers, drop in the overall quality is observed. A major challenge for the jobholder is to ensure consistent quality throughout the work and perform thorough check on the quality procedures of these manufacturers.
