Basic Function:
The RBI Engineer is responsible to assist the Senior RBI Engineer in ensuring the plant integrity and reliability for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the plant based on RBI methodologies.
Main Work Performed and Responsibilities:
• To carry out the RBI study plan and progress reporting against plan.
• To collect the results of intrusive and non-intrusive inspections from the relevant inspection area Engineer and update the inspection data base and modify inspection schedule based on RBI methodology for the future inspection
• To upload the inspection program and activities in the SAP to facilitate maintenance department to plan and schedule the inspection activities.
• Follow up with maintenance planning to ensure the inspection activities as established by RBI are scheduled.
• Preparation of management reports and corrosion loop documentation for the corrosion loop documentation for the corrosion manual.
• Plan for & rerun RBI studies as required.
• Prepare the RBI reports for issue to the site specific area inspection Engineers and ensure implementation of the planned inspection tasks.
• Receive the inspection data back from the specific Area inspection engineers and update the RBI database with the relevant data, update the RBI parameters as required , re-run the analysis and provide the data for changes to equipment frequencies that has to be entered into SAP.
• Must be fully conversant with all aspects of the application (s) technologies, development techniques, and operating system being used.
Work Contacts:
Reports directly to Senior RBI Engineer. Coordinate with process and Plant Operations and Maintenance personnel in consultation with Department Manager to organize RBI team.
Independence of Operation and Decision making Authority:
• Reports complex problems to Department Manager. Follows the policies and guidelines of the Plant Improvement Division.
• Performance is reviewed by Sr. RBI Engineer
Work Environment:
Based at the plant location in Ruwais. Spends a lot of time in and around the plants to verify the corrosion loops and potential corrosion areas. Is exposed to plant conditions and weather extremes.
• Experienced in the establishment of RBI methodology.
• Graduation degree or equivalent technical or science discipline qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Petrochemical, Chemical. Specialized training in RBI.
• Good speaking and writing knowledge of English.
• With minimum of five years work experience in this field.
• Report writing experience with strong attention to details.
