JOB DESCRIPTION
Function: Pipe Stress & Support Engineer
Department: Pipe Stress and Support Engineering

Reporting:
- Engineer to Lead Engineer
- Lead Engineer to Piping Manager or Section Leader.

TASKS:
- Acts as Engineer /Lead Engineer in a project team for multiple, large or complex projects.
- The Engineer will:
- Play an active role in the integrated EPC work process as a member of the pro¿ject team, for engineering, selection, production, fabrication, inspection, testing, delivery, shipment, installation and (per) commissioning of materials.
- Share and explain all relevant information to support the EPC work process, ensure that this information is current and the basis is understood.
- Apply all relevant procedures, practices and standards.
- Challenge project requirements where there is room for improvement (value cost engineering).
- Achieve the total quality and SHE objectives set for the project.
- Audit work of other discipline teams.
- Make work improvement recommendations.
- As part of proposal team, prepare part of proposal, negotiate scope of work.
- Interview/screen candidates for staff/hires.
- Show flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to:
- The reassignment to other departments.
- The replacement of other assistants during illness and holidays.
- The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workload and also other departments when possible/desirable.
- The managing/learning of current working methods and software applica¿tions.
- Accept tasks of lower level and in consultation with the Section Leader certain tasks of higher level.

Additional for the Lead Engineer function, the Engineer will :
- Manage, supervise and give direction to one or more pipe stress and support project teams.
- Review and take responsibility for work performed by employees under his/her supervision and approve technical contents.
- Define the discipline scope of work and develop input for the discipline Execution Plan.
- Define and maintain the project quality system for his/her discipline.
- Set up and maintain the planning for the discipline to suit the overall project schedule and report progress on a regular basis.
- Take joint responsibility with other project management team members for schedules and budgets.
- Define resources required to perform the work.
- Control changes and report deviations to the project management team.
- Execute project closeout activities and communicate lessons learned.

CERINTE

Education: (Formal Qualifications)
- TU/TH.

Safety certificate.
Personal Skills: (Other Qualifications)
- > 10 years mechanical engineering experience in petrochemical industry (TU).
- > 15 years mechanical engineering experience in petrochemical industry (TH).
- Supervisory/management skills.
- English.
- Experienced with external contacts.
- Professional under all conditions.
- Sales capabilities, negotiating skills.
- Flexible/understanding higher level.
- Radiates confidence, also under stress.
- Good expression in word and writing.
- SHE/cost/quality conscious.
