RESPONSABILITATI

BASIC PURPOSE

-Assist the Restaurant Manager in all phases of the restaurant operation. Assumes responsibility of the management and supervision of the restaurant in the absence of the restaurant manager.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
-Assists the restaurant manager in the scheduling of personnel.
-Assists in the preparation of payroll and also personnel related matters.
-Maintains awareness of the necessary duties of all restaurant personnel and supervise performance.
-Assists in all training efforts by giving input, planning lessons and teaching
-Assures that the table setting and general condition of the restaurant is up to Standards.
-Assigns stations and duties to waiters and assistant
-Remains in the restaurant during operating hours and assist both staff and Guests in their needs.
-Assists in greeting and seating guests and insures prompt, efficient and courteous Service.
-Handles reservations, questions and complains when necessary.
- Assists in management decision-making when called upon.

-Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.

OTHER POSSIBLE RESPONSIBILITIES

-Meet & Greet Guest upon embarkation.
- Escort guest to the stateroom.
- Assist with guest personal belongings or luggage.
- Deliver various amenities to stateroom.
- Assist with private parties and functions.
- Assist with any guest requests within the role of the job and possibility of meeting the need.
- Swiping guest cards at gangway.
- Unpack boxes/stocking area.
- Other jobs as assigned.

DIMENSIONS
-Able to lift at least 25 lbs.
-Climb on step stool or ladder in order to complete elements of job or facilitate maintenance issues.
- Bend, lean and stoop without hindrance.
- Fine motor skills.
- Use stairs often.
- Work within different temperature changes—indoors to outdoors.
- Able to pass basic safety course.
- All in here mentioned is a minimal description of duties. Other work requirements may be necessary and assigned as business or maritime law dictates.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL LEVEL

- Experience as a Maitre D’ or Assistant Maitre D’ in a large cruise ship operation, or a combination of ship and hotel experience in these positions.
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent degree is mandatory; Hotel School or University degree is preferable.
- Courses in safety, environmental, public health and sanitation regulations and procedures are required.
- Proof of continuing education translated in certificates or letters of participation in professional F&B courses and seminars.

EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of two years of working experience as a Maitre D’ or Assistant Maitre D’ in a large cruise ship, or a combination of ship and hotel experience in these positions.
- Managerial experience in handling a large restaurant serving the three meal periods.
- Proven ability to manage and direct a large multinational service team
- A proven track record in meeting and exceeding industry service standards and guest satisfaction results

- Strong command of the English language combined with excellent verbal and written skills.
- Ability to build a strong Team focused on quality service and exceeding guest expectations.
- Ability to plan, execute and follow up on food and beverage promotions and other activities that will increase revenues and enhance our guests cruising experience.
- Ability to train and motivate and to conduct meetings.
- Ability to innovate and foster creativity.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, execute and follow up.
- Ability to implement work schedules according to business levels
- Ability to understand, analyze and interpret financial results.
- Ability to organize and complete work in accordance to deadlines.
- PC knowledge of: Word Perfect and Excel.
- Fluent in interpreting and implementing companies and work rules.
- Effective planner and organizer.
