JOB DESCRIPTION
Function: HSE Engineer
Department: Safety, Health, and Environment
Reporting:
- Reports to Project (Engineering) Manager(s).
- Reports to Department Manager

TASKS:
- The HSE Engineer 2 contributes very efficiently to all kinds of process related activities for projects, proposals, estimates and/or work improvement programs.
- The HSE Engineer 2 can perform as Lead HSE Engineer for small and large projects.
- Is responsible as Lead HSE Engineer for project execution within budget and time schedule.
- The HSE Engineer 2 has a managing and leading task and must be able to work independently. However, complex matters may be discussed with a HSE Specialist in the department.
- The HSE Engineer 2 must perform and will be held responsible for and aware of:
- Scheduling and estimating activities.
- Preparation of HSE philosophies and HSE Execution plans
- Consult specialists of the HSE Department and elsewhere, if applicable.
- Perform HSE studies.
- Contacts with clients or potential clients.
- Lead in screening meetings and communication with other disciplines to verify and ensure that process requirements are well understood and properly taken care of by all concerned.
- Performing (computer) calculations, interpretation and optimization of results
- Preparation of proposal write-ups and HSE scope definition.
- Translation of the contract requirements to (HSE) activities on the job. Ensuring that HSE performance guarantees can be met.
- Acting as a focal point for HSE related questions
- Maintenance of HSE information on Codes, Standards and Country Laws.
- Coordination of third parties
- Review of all designs which may affect the HSE guarantees.
- In respect of constructed plants represents Lummus for all HSE-related aspects.

Show flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to:
- The reassignment to other projects.
- The replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays.
- The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workload (also other projects) when possible/desirable.
- The managing/learning of current future working methods and software applications.
