- Location: West Africa (LNG Plant)
- Rotation: 70 days on / 21 days off
Basic Function:
- Ensures that power is generated and distributed at Marathon¿s Punta Europa site 24 hours a day by directing and participating with I&E Technicians and Trainees in, installing, maintaining, and repairing all electrical and instrumentation equipment and control systems.
- Ensures that work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner to established standards.
- Also to monitor on the job training for all trainees, and technicians as required.

Work Performed:
- Directs and participates with I&E Technicians and Trainees in the maintenance of all instrumentation, electrical, and control systems. Includes ensuring that the appropriate preventative and corrective maintenance is carried out in accordance with manufacturers specifications, and maintenance departments standards.
- Makes recommendations and modifications to existing plant as required.
- Organizes and directs daily work for I&E Technicians and Trainees.
- Includes carrying out routine, planned preventative maintenance, and breakdown work on all instrumentation and electrical equipment by ensuring that tools, equipment and suitable Technicians are available to carry out the work in a safe and cost effective manner.
- Management of spare part inventory in warehouse.
- Monitors and assesses progression of Trainee¿s.
- Responds to operational breakdowns on a 24 hour basis and recommends remedial action. Includes being the first on the scene to assess the cause of equipment failure, and delegating I&E Technicians to carry out the necessary repairs.
- Monitors and ensures that the H.E.S. policies and procedures are being adhered to. For example, ensure that breathing apparatus is used when required, that hot work permits are issued when necessary, etc. Weekly safety meetings with I&E group to be chaired every Monday morning, as per HES site requirement.
- Issue safe work permits and electrical isolation permits to contractors and worker. To include the writing of safe work procedures and switching schedules up to 13.8Kv and issuing them to the I&E Technicians or contractors who will be carrying out the work.
- Liaises with the on site Engineering/Construction departments on new Instrumentation and Electrical.
- Includes testing equipment to international
- Instrument/Electrical standards.

Work Contacts:
- Frequent contact at own or occasionally at next higher level with other departments for work coordination.
- Occasional contact with equipment manufacturers for advice and queries. Frequent contact with Technicians and Trainees to develop effective working relationship, and to encourage and motivate them on the job.
- Independence of Operation:
- Works according to established procedures and specialized Instrument and Electrical maintenance standards.
- Has freedom to allocate work to subordinates in line with determined priorities.
- Discusses assignments strategies with Maintenance Superintendent prior to carrying them out, and provides feed back upon completion.

Supervisory Responsibility:
- Provides work direction to I&E Technicians and Trainees.
- Provides input to Maintenance Superintendent regarding subordinate disciplinary issues and performance appraisals when requested.

Physical Effort:
- Walking and standing with occasional climbing (30 %)
- Sitting (55 %)
- Occasional lifting, pulling/pushing and working in confined space (15 %)
Work Environment:
- Air conditioned office, control rooms and switchrooms (65 %)
- Outdoor site conditions (35 %)
- Moderate exposure to heat, dirt dust, noise, water, grease, and oil.


CERINTE

Minimum Requirement:
- Completion of Secondary Education (12 years) . Followed by 4 years full time Instrument/Electrical apprenticeship.
- 10 years Instrument/Electrical experience in the Oil and Gas / Petrochemical / Power Industry.
- 5 years in a supervisory role in one of the above industries.
- Completion of high voltage switching course and experience with working on electrical networks and equipment of at least 13.8Kv.
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID¿s and electrical wiring and schematic drawings.
- Posses computer skills, including Excel, Microsoft Word, SAP, and Outlook.
- Very good knowledge of English.
- Valid driving licence.
