Control Engineer - Emiratele Arabe Unite

- Provides engineering back-up to Control Maintenance personnel on various maintenance issues to achieve high plant performance and reliability. Includes carrying out troubleshooting of plant problems, participating in failure analysis of critical control systems, recommending corrective actions, etc.
- Reviews and provides technical specifications of existing and new equipment.
- Reviews and assesses the reliability of major instrumentation, such as ESD, TDC system and ensures that specified recommendations are followed by site.
- Ensures cost-effective solutions and applications of value added engineering throughout the assigned projects.
- Designs in-house engineered works including drawings, specifications/data sheets and bills of quantities.
- Coordinates instrumentation and control interfaces between existing and ongoing projects to ensure optimal system design.
- Reviews and approves bidders list and bid documents for contract/purchase orders for instrument equipment such as distribution control system (DCS), programmable logic controller (PLC s), SCADA, etc. Evaluates tenders/bids and approves selection of equipment.
-Supervises the design works of consultants and engineering contractors to ensure that they are in accordance with the scope of work. Approves drawings, specifications and other technical documents for all types of projects incorporating the comments and requirements of the operating centre.
-Develops Company standards and guidelines for use in-house by the contractors with regard to projects undertaken.
-Develops the scope of work for consultants and/or engineering contractors.
- Develops and writes Statement of Requirements (SOR) for new projects and ensures SOR s approval as required.
- Reviews spares availability and consumption and prepares necessary management reports.
- Carries out other similar or related duties, as assigned, such as ensuring observance of safety rules and regulations, raising proposals for adopting new technology to improve operations, etc.
- Develops personnel skills to be able to become multiskilled in electrical and control experts.
-Provides work direction to, Supervisors and Technicians.
