- Analyze information processing or application needs and plan and configure Peoplesoft HCM, FM and/or SFA systems (including knowledge of Payroll process), using best practice techniques such as structured analysis, data modeling and information engineering.
Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or business needs (EMEA experience highly desired) an Peoplesoft HCM, FM and/or SFA application is to address. Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles and SOX compliancy.
- Define the goals of the system and devise flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of application. Determine application or hardware needed to set up or alter system.
- Develop, document and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards. Test, maintain, and monitor applications and systems, including coordinating the installation of applications and systems. Train staff and users to work with Peoplesoft HCM, FM and SFA
- Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve work flow.
- Interview or survey users, observe job performance and/or perform the job in order to determine what information is processed and how it is processed.
- Provide staff and users with assistance solving application related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems.
- Specify inputs accessed by the system and plan the distribution and use of the results.
- Coordinate and link the application systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared.
- Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.
- Read manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn how to develop programs that meet staff and user requirements. Supervise programmers or serve as project leaders for particular systems projects.
