Responsabilitati:
•The Database Support Engineer focuses on continuous operation, project and change management of the Database Systems, many of them within a high availability environment.
•The main goal is to minimize the amount of unplanned downtime in the customer's production environment and to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
•Moreover this person has the responsibility for complex Database Environments and is responsible for all change management. They are also responsible for the optimization, of the support process and proactive support.
•The Database Engineer is responsible to work on complex Database issues, identify and solve 3rd level problems, keep close contact with the customer, coordinate data center, technician and network incident and implementation activities.
•According to our service level agreements we commit to our customers short response times and to fix problems within a given timeframe.
•To fulfil these tasks, regular standby and weekend work is expected. This person will need to be able to formulate and complete complex change management requests, with service quality always in mind.
•At least 4 years practical experience in managing IT Infrastructure related Incidents & Problems.
•At least 4 years practical experience in HP-UX / Linux
•At least 2 years experience in managing high availability environments, and associated technologies
• Excellent Analytical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills must be able to demonstrate.
•Service oriented behaviour and communication to internal and external contacts
•Good communication skills (Communication to customers verbal and written is mandatory)
•Act as a key technical resource for all support and proactive service, to the Account Team, Customer, 2nd Line, and Management.
•fluent in English
•knowledge of German is a plus
•Oracle Certified DBA.
• Excellent understanding of high availability environments, MC Service Guard
•Excellent in the area of Database Backup and restore, and show practical experience of implementation.
•Installing and upgrading the Oracle Server and application tools
•Understand system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system
•Maintaining system security
•Ensuring compliance with the Oracle license agreement
•Controlling and monitoring user access to the database
•Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database, performing DB Reorganisations (on Request)
•Contacting Oracle Corporation for technical support
•Past hands-on Experience in consulting and DB Infrastructure Design.
•Knowledge of Openview DBSpi and Dbmon.
•practical experience in Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise and Sybase Replication Server administration, replication definitions configuration, warm standby configuration
•excellent understanding of high availability environments (MC ServiceGuard, Sun Cluster)
•excellent in database backup & restore and show practical experience of implementation
•understand system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system

Network size: network of EMEA Enterprise clients
Working schedule: EMEA working time – no shifts, 10:00 – 14:00 office hours.
