RESPONSABILITATI

Role purpose:

• Tier 1 infrastructure management and customer support Engineer. This role is required to monitor and maintain MarketPrizm’s trading application, systems and network infrastructure. Providing a first point of contact for MarketPrizm clients and partners to take end-to-end ownership of incidents and requests through to a successful resolution.

Key accountabilities:
• Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve faults on the Layer2/3 network and application infrastructure according to product SLAs.
• Implement run-book market data feed handler checks, assessment of results and ownership of subsequent resolution actions.
• Implementation of network and system change activity, including upgrades, modifications and customer orders
• Have a good general knowledge of network layers and application connectivity solutions
• Providing a professional interface to customers, acting as a Single Point of Contact for all their issues.
• Build and maintain working relationships with key interconnect partners and vendors
• Manage and coordinate tasks assigned to other teams and 3rd parties such as data centres or exchange venues
• Maintain a clear and accurate record of events throughout a fault duration utilising the Fault Management System and provide regular updates as and when required
• Resolve or escalate faults as appropriate, according to product SLAs
• Identify, Plan and Implement solutions for re-occurring problems
• Technical report generation for customer RFO/RCA requests
• Technically manage software upgrades in co-ordination with vendor and MarketPrizm teams involved

Experience:

• Must have experience in monitoring supporting network and server infrastructure, ideally in a financial services environment
• Operational exposure to Juniper or Cisco routers and switches
• Experience supporting HP and Dell server hardware
• Basic working knowledge of networking technologies such as VPN,BGP, OSPF and Multicast useful
• Experience of UNIX based applications and trouble-shooting tools such as ping, Telnet, FTP, TFTP, Trace-route

Qualifications:

• A logical approach to fault finding and troubleshooting
• Ability to control and co-ordinate complex technical situations in a calm and professional manner
• Good Customer Facing Skills, dealing with specialist requests regarding Overall Solutions and not limited to a single Technology.
• Customer Focused and good communication with all required parties, including internal/external network partners and customers

Colt began in 1992 with funding from Fidelity Investments. Within a year we’d completed 15 km of our London network, and been granted a PTO licence so that we could offer voice and transmission services. We soon had our very first customer.

We then signed various interconnect agreements and by 1995 had completed the initial phase of our network in London’s West End. That meant we could compete for business amongst the vibrant media, advertising and broadcasting community located in that area. We won more and more customers and by 1996 Colt was floated on the London Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ. We opened for business in Frankfurt, and gained our licence to operate in France.

Our European expansion continued as we raised new capital, won many awards, and began to work in Spain, Switzerland, and deepen our presence in France and Germany.

As of today, we are Europe’s leading information delivery platform, with over 35,000 European business and government customers. We have the fastest end-to-end European Ethernet network, seamlessly connecting over 100 cities. We also own and operate 19 state-of-the-art data centres.
