Poken is looking for an experienced software quality assurance engineer to design, develop, and execute automated test plans and test scripts. The position also requires some manual testing of Poken’s web applications, documenting defects and following through to resolution, as well as actively participating in each iteration of our software products. You will also be responsible for implementing an automated testing process by scripting functional tests for multiple platforms.
To fulfill this role we are seeking a high-energy, detailed-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and high quality standards to work closely with our existing teams in Switzerland and Romania, principally software engineering and product management.
This position will be based in our office in Sibiu, Romania; it reports to the software engineering project manager in Switzerland. Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor in Computer Science or related field and 1+ year experience in automated software testing.
Fluency in English required, both written and spoken.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute automation software test scripts
- Define test plans and test cases for optimal testing coverage
- Analyze functional requirements and product documentation.
- Report, track, and verify the resolution of software and requirements defects by effective communication with the team.
- Produce quality reports for projects and releases
- Play a key role in improving test methodologies and processes (through automation)
- Configure test system configurations and maintain test lab conditions
- Document all phases of the systems quality assurance process
- Support customer service and production as needed
Required Education and Years of Experience:
- Bachelor in Computer Science or related field and 1+ year experience in automated software testing
Experience in following areas:
- Deep understanding and passion for web applications and related technologies
- Experience building and executing test scripts for various software testing techniques, e.g. functional, stress and performance testing
- Knowledge and experience with modern test tools, e.g Load Runner
- Experience in building automated test systems
- An understanding of the SDLC, especially modern agile methodologies.
- Basic systems administration experience (installing and configuring operating systems and hardware for the test lab)
- Familiarity with relational databases and ability to write SQL queries
- Basic programming experience with scripting languages, markup languages and/or structured languages such as PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Java, C#, VB, etc.
