Role purpose:

Provides technical support to Procurement Managers
Ensures that processes are carried out in accordance with agreed standards

Key Accountabilities:
Provides expert support to the Procurement function
Maintains systems and processes to manage the spend and the delivery of financial targets
Reviews bid proposals from vendors
Receives and reviews requisitions
Develops and provides management information
Provides customer liaison for end users
Acts as a subject matter expert on broad procurement issues
Takes part in implementing the standard operating model across COLT
Operates processes to ensure procurement legislation is adhered to

Experience:
Has developed knowledge of procurement/buying management and has practical experience of applying these principles

Additional accountabilities for role profile:

Provide spend analytical support to sourcing and supply management teams, in a timely and accurate manner to aid with strategic decision making. Assist with future development and automation of spend reporting.

•Lead on the generation of supplier surveys/score-cards for strategic suppliers to support the Supplier Relationship Manager (SRM) leads in Procurement and the business. Provide accurate analysis of results.

• Support on the creation of supplier quarterly reports, ensuring all information is updated and in a correct format.

• Develop strategic supplier briefing packs that can be used for senior stakeholder meetings.

• Update the monthly procurement dashboard, providing a summary view of procurement performance against KPI's (i.e. Savings etc...).

• Maintain the procurement and supply management share-point, ensuring all information is current and accurate.

• Provide support on eProcurement tools (Oracle and eSouring) to Procurement staff members such as; helping with the creation of sourcing event templates, creation/amending of PO's, helping with invoice matching/reconciliations and supplier creation.

• Cleanse master data within the ERP system, such as supplier information and records ensuring the purchasing system is kept updated.

• Manage the contract management repository, ensuring all contracts are loaded onto Oracle correctly and in a timely fashion.

• Provide general help desk support for all procurement related queries and direct to appropriate procurement staff for resolution.

• Help develop standard procurement tools and templates for Sourcing and SRM.

• Providing project support to procurement improvement programmes, such as supplier on-boarding to new systems or new processes.

Colt began in 1992 with funding from Fidelity Investments. Within a year we’d completed 15 km of our London network, and been granted a PTO licence so that we could offer voice and transmission services. We soon had our very first customer.

We then signed various interconnect agreements and by 1995 had completed the initial phase of our network in London’s West End. That meant we could compete for business amongst the vibrant media, advertising and broadcasting community located in that area. We won more and more customers and by 1996 Colt was floated on the London Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ. We opened for business in Frankfurt, and gained our licence to operate in France.

Our European expansion continued as we raised new capital, won many awards, and began to work in Spain, Switzerland, and deepen our presence in France and Germany.

As of today, we are Europe’s leading information delivery platform, with over 35,000 European business and government customers. We have the fastest end-to-end European Ethernet network, seamlessly connecting over 100 cities. We also own and operate 19 state-of-the-art data centres.
