General description
Provide detailed design input and analysis in support of products being manufactured at the Medias facility. Liaison between the UK (and USA) based engineering departments and local manufacturing in Medias. Root cause analysis of local design engineering related issues; design improvement proposals; liaison activities in support of New Product Development projects; engineering input to local engineering change management process. This role will cover technology in hydraulics, fabricated structures, some electrical and electronic systems. The Liaison Engineer should be conversant with best practice tools such as 8D root cause analysis, DFMA and CAD/CAE.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensuring that engineering specifications are met
• Using CAD and BoM / PDM systems to investigate and ensure correct revision control of engineering BoMs
• Investigate and propose quality conscious design including cost, weight, reliability, and ease of manufacturing specific to local process capability
• Provide engineering input and design improvements to assess process capability
• Provide local support and liaison to NPD teams for prototype, pilot and product launch builds
• Competently utilize various state-of-the-art-engineering tools, instrumentation, personal computers (PC) and (CAD) equipment
• Process engineering information through change proposals, change notices and the creation of thorough piece part documentation
• Respond to Continuous Improvement Requests
• Use reasonable foresight to identify vehicle assembly, operation, maintenance and durability risks in order to control them within acceptable levels
• Direct support of suppliers and test programs to include travel to off-site locations, as necessary, to accomplish assigned engineering programs
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Computer Aided Engineering
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• CAD experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years related work experience required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills - English and Romanian
• Experience with off-highway equipment preferred
• PTC Pro-E CAD skills
• Windchill or Teamcenter PDM/PLM knowledge
