Their tunnel design experience includes immersed tube tunnels, sprayed concrete linings, trenchless tunnelling, tunnel boring machines, tunnel lighting and ventilation, tunnel refurbishment including design for passive and active fire resistance.
Job description
Underground Work Engineers are required at all levels at my client’s Croydon office and elsewhere to work on several exciting projects including Crossrail, the Tyne Tunnel, Limerick, Thames Water, London Underground Infracos, and Budapest.
Candidate specification
Technical aspects of the role require experience in the following areas;
• Soft ground and hard rock tunnels
• Cut and cover tunnels
• Tunnels in an urban area
• Sprayed concrete lining
• Segmental lining
• Settlement assessment
• Associated processes such as ground treatment
The ideal candidate will be a team player with experience in customer facing roles. You should have knowledge of writing reports and possess good interpersonal skills. First class communication skills, both written and oral are a must as the role will involve client contact. Some construction experience is advantageous but not a prerequisite. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is essential for our current requirements.
Senior roles will require experience in leading teams and excellent all round management skills.
