- He or she also must be familiar with current trends in businesses and solutions that other industries are using to remain within requirements while decreasing production costs.
- Attending seminars, workshops and ongoing training is important for an environmental engineer.
- The engineer must also be able to effectively communicate this information to management teams within the various industries and help them establish plans to include new, environmentally friendly way of increasing production and decreasing costs.
- Performing various soil, air or water tests to determine the risk of contamination or the degree of contamination that has occurred.
- Writing reports and proposals developed from data collected on the various environmental issues in a given area.
- Developing site clean-up plans, monitoring their completion and adherence to environmental regulations.
- Meeting with clients to formulate more cost effective and environmentally friendly processing methods or waste disposal methods.
- Meeting with government agencies to coordinate services in times of environmental accidents or catastrophes.
- Traveling to various construction or industry sites as requested.
PROFILE:
- BS or MS in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or Engineering;
- 3-5 years experience in wastewater design or in a similar construction or project process industry or even after University.
- Technical and task management skills;
- Knowledge of biological treatment design (knowledge of membrane treatment systems is a plus);
- Knowledge of EU, Romanian and local engineering, safety, and environmental regulations;
- Experience in preparing engineering proposals and quotations;
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage a multi-functional engineering team;
- Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, as well as having experience with internet resources.
STUDIES:
- Technical university degree, BS or MS in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or Engineering.
SKILLS:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community;
- Ability to provide accurate and efficient service under the stress of constant deadlines;
- Ability to analyze and solve problems in time;
- Extended experience in environmental construction field;
- Flexibility, team spirit, professional appearance & attitude;
- Fluent in English; German is an advantage;
- The ability to think logically and solve problems;
- Care for details;
- Driving license: B;
- Loyal, highly motivated, organized.
