Description of Unit

Business Unit Global Services has a number of Global Services Delivery Centers around the world which complements the Market Units in delivering delivery services to Ericsson's customers.
Network Operation Center (NOC) is part of the global footprint for regional delivery of Managed Services
NOC GSDC Romania is today one of the primary operations centers and will focus on Telco customers running Ericsson's corporate global voice and data networks.
Within the NOC GSDC Romania there are three units focusing on the various aspects of delivery, Ops Support, Front Office and Back Office (Network and Application).
The organization is responsible for provisioning and operation of our customer's data, voice network. Within the responsibility are complicated fault restorations (Assurance), technical changes, configuration management, readiness, security, performance management, preventive maintenance, provisioning and consultancy.


Job Description

Provide 3rd line technical support on Nokia Mobile Core Circuit elements including on-call .
Implement changes & software upgrades on the Mobile Circuit Core network.
Liaise closely with the Design and Test teams to ensure operational requirements are highlighted and incorporated into any planned changes.
Ensure availability and fault fix service level targets are exceeded.


Responsibilities

3rd line support for 3 UK's Mobile Circuit Core (MCC) Network (and potentially other customer networks). Responsible for escalation to suppliers when required.
Perform new functionality/maintenance release upgrades and changes on the MCC network (typically overnight work in the data centres).
To ensure that the change management processes are followed, including the creation and submission of work orders to the change management team.
To provide support to the 1st and 2nd line support and data centre teams (e.g. technical advice, coaching, training etc.)
Review and update proactive maintenance tasks and schedule - typically performed by the 1st and 2nd line teams (e.g. backup and recovery procedures).
Liaise with the Core Network Manager and/or Incident Managers during major incidents to ensure appropriate business / technical communications are maintained with all key business areas.
Ensure network availability and integrity. This includes performance engineering activities to improve call completion success rates.
To create/update support documentation or to produce technical reports following critical service affecting incidents.
Ensure operational requirements are highlighted and incorporated into any changes planned by the Design and Test teams including witnessing/approving new procedures in the test bed.
To ensure that the circuit switched OSS platforms are optimally configured and that all relevant functionality is being utilized fully. To liaise with the OSS Engineering and Operations teams where required.
Support the Core Network Manager in supplier management activities (e.g. preparation for supplier operational review meetings).


CERINTE

Technical expertise:

Advanced knowledge of Core Circuit platforms 2-3yrs experience in a 3G environment.
Strong background in Operations -experience of being on-call or working shifts, knowledge of best working practises, service awareness and customer impact.
Good knowledge of C7, IP, ATM technologies.
Strong fault finding abilities and ability to work unsupervised.


Soft skills:

Team player, ability to prioritize work, good attention to detail, flexible approach to duties, excellent communication skills inside and outside the team, ability to take ownership to responsibilities.


Academic background:

Educational background in a recognised Telecommunications or related Academic Qualification
Preferable: Background of formal Nokia training in Core elements - 3G CS
