Job Description Scope and Responsibilities:
- Direct construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project site.
- Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility
- Test soils and materials to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel.
- Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and structural repairs to managerial personnel.
- Conduct studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and assess the potential impact of project.
- Test soils and materials or analyze compiled report to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel.
- Provide technical advice regarding construction, or program modifications and structural change to management. Analyzing problems and determining critical factors for investigation.
- Organizing and conducting investigations and analysis
- Approving significant changes in specifications and plans, work techniques and materials
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with a minimum of 5 to 10 years experience.
- Experience in the design and supervision of reinforced concrete structures.
- Design and / or site experience in pre-stress concrete construction is an asset.
- Experience in precast & prefab operation is an asset.
- Experience in road and airport infrastructure and design is preferred.
- Experience working oversea is preferred.
- Self-motivated.
- Experience in airport construction is a major asset
Communication Skills:
- Good communication skills in spoken and written English.
Knowledge:
- Working knowledge in AUTOCAD is a must.
- Knowledge in infrastructure (Road, Aviation, Building) is important
- All the Civil tasks element in Building and airport facilities is to be considered
- Solid understanding of a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other engineering disciplines
- Considerable knowledge of general EPC established guidelines, procedures and practices as well as other departments, suppliers and contractors.
- Good understanding & proficiency in project planning and control methods
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria.
- Considerable knowledge of a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques
