We are seeking a Senior Application Management Engineer to Provide Level 2 / 3(Operational SME) support for enterprise apps and their components to ensure app availability to the business. Proactively monitor apps, changes and incidents to maintain service levels. The Application Management Engineer candidate must have a minimum of 2 years hands-on working experience in the network and security field.
- Designs/develops scripts to automate manual tasks.
- Deploy releases, enhancements, and upgrades or new apps into production to stabilize the environment.
- Provide analysis and solutions to app performance issues to improve app availability.
- Respond to Incident Tickets and monitoring alerts to quickly identify source and implement resolution to reduce duration of outage.
- Provide Level 2/3 (Operational SME) support for enterprise apps and components (i.e. Filenet, Websphere App Server, MQSeries, SeeBeyond, Kofax, Rightfax, Oracle/SQL, etc).
- Includes problem solving and designing a solution for resuming service.
- For ex, WAS (Websphere) WPS, Oracle db, SQL db, KoFax, Rightfax, Sun One Web Server, MS Access, Attachmate, and IE. These components are hosted on Windows and Linux platforms.
- Provide App Admin for enterprise app components (i.e. WAS, MQSeries, SeeBeyond, and Filenet, etc). Analyze and resolve issues (i.e. disk space, transaction failure, performance, loss of connectivity). Research and apply
software upgrades and patches. Install new instances of each
- Evaluate/deploy releases, enhancements, and upgrades & new apps into production per release mgmt instructions to ensure no business app impact
- Provide analysis and solutions to app performance issues to improve app availability
- Design and develop scripts to automate critical tasks to ensure they are repeatable and accurate
- Author of processes and enterprise app architecture
- 4-5 years experience in computer related support field
- Strong knowledge of UNIX and/or Windows Operating System
- Strong knowledge of Internet technologies
- Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL server
- Knowledge of Websphere (Administrator or Installation Level)
- Knowledge of FileNet (Installation on both UNIX and Windows level)
- Scripting PERL, BOURNE, C++
