Project Engineering Manager
1. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To manage the Engineering activities with few specialists responsible for providing support to engineering work and problem solving for Al Sejeel project/ Plant. To be responsible for the team’s development of Process, Mechanical and Civil Engineering design packages to maintain operations in the Al Sejeel Project Facility
2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
a) Provides leadership and acts to promote the QAPCO safety culture
b) Ensures proper application of the project management process for all capital and maintenance projects
c) Plans, prioritizes, coordinates and aligns the work group’s activities to ensure that effective process engineering services are done as per the best practice
d) Acts as Leader/Coach/facilitator/communicator to the engineering Project team
e) Leads the Project capital budgeting process
f) Manages the outside engineering project services contracts when needed
g) Provides equipment design input to Project
h) Identifies and justifies improvements to equipment/processes and develops work scope and bid invitations. Supervises installation and commissioning of plants
i) Provides engineering assistance to Operations Management with regard to programme new plant
j) Takes responsibility for the technical aspect of all project design activities
3. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent
At least 15 years experience in the process project engineering, design, construction commissioning and maintenance and operations of large scale petrochemical installations
Fluency in speaking and writing English language and computer literate
Preferable knowledge of specific software packages like Microsoft Project, Primavera Project Planner, design software knowledge i.e. AutoCad, Microstation, PDS and PDMS
