Material Engineer

- Establishment of CLIENT corporate central catalogue for materials and ensure compliance with standards and templates for creation and maintenance
- Continuously work on review and enhancement of catalogue items¿ buying description
- Performs and controls various activities related to stack materials cataloging and coding
- Update and amendment of material specifications liaison activities with end user, buyer and logistics to effectively complete the procurement cycle
- Perform technical evaluation of stock items (as required)
-Identification of existing duplicates, consolidate them if necessary, eliminate new duplicate creations, and find the interchangeability for obsolete items across CLIENT affiliates/units
- Plan, manage and participate in the identification and consolidation of ¿common¿ items
- Manage, maintain and report statistics to ensure updated, cleaned and complete corporate-wide catalogue(s) for materials
- Provide buying departments with quality technical specifications that enables competitive international sourcing
-Coordinate material standardization strategies with affiliate users
- Coordinate with the customers for their future requirements of MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operational supplies) stock and for plants turnaround and small projects etc.
-Manage surplus, obsolete stock and scrap materials and disposal activities
- Coordinate and maintain plans to optimize the cost of spare parts inventory, including the optimization of inventory stock levels
- Establish and maintain a process to monitor stocking levels
- Implement best practice techniques to improve stock turnover and control
- Develop, implement and maintain a process to manage requests to stock new items
-Establish relationship with affiliate¿s maintenance and technical functions to create collaborative efforts to plan spare parts requirements
-Develop and implement the physical inventory count program in coordination with warehouse management to ensure record accuracy
-Identify dormant stock, initiate analysis and coordinate results review with CLIENT affiliates management and coordinate stock write-off with accounting department
-Adjust stock levels and post differences in the system as and when required and approved
-Manage the process of identifying stock materials as per movement and usage
- Assume overall responsibility for smooth and proper functioning of MRP process to provide customer satisfaction and achieve organization¿s goals and objectives, which includes but not limited to optimization of inventory levels, ensure availability of material as per service level etc
- Review with affiliates users, material consumption improvement methodologies for optimized inventory- stocking levels and attend meetings with affiliates end users if required.
