To ensure manufacturing are achieving quality targets whilst meeting production output demand. Verification of process and product conformance at the EMS partner sites. Following up on quality issues related to modules and printed circuit board assemblies and conducting root cause analysis of quality issues from production floor. Escalating to process quality engineer on any design related issues that needs to be fixed.
80% of Time:
• Compliance auditing and product verification checks / tear-down
• Supporting process Quality engineering in yield improvements, scrap reductions and reduce customer impacts.
• Support quality engineering in component and design related problem identification and resolution.
• Conduct daily audits of outgoing products to a pre-defined sampling plan on products already certified as good by the EMS partner.
Remaining 20%:
• Conduct failure analysis of units and problem solving of assemblies and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies and material related issues
• Support Outsourcing Partners during product ramp and process audits.
• Conduct drop testing of devices on a pre-defined cycle.
Will complete a root cause analysis, and determine if can solve problem or need to reach out to another department.
Responsible for directly contacting Mfg Engineer or PQS of issue and make recommendations for solution.
• Electronic/Mechanical Engineering Technologist/Technician or related diploma
• 3-5 years experience in Quality Field
• CQT or ASQ would be preferred
• Trained auditor
• Telecommunications preferred
• Strong manual dexterity skills
• QA Tools including: 7 step problem solving, Control Charts, QA Software
• Statistical knowledge
• Process, product and system audit experience
• Ability to read circuit and mechanical drawings required
• Able to perform product tear-down testing and document results
• The ability to perform defined product tests (Eg, Drop & Tumble)
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 system preferred
