- Interacts directly with manager and team members; engages in routine exchanges of information; interactions with external contacts;
- Coordinates and manages the material cost activity for selected customers with assistance from senior level staff members;
- Assists / drive the preparation of material pricing for new business opportunities (bids) including generation of Bill of Material, cost analysis, negotiation with suppliers;
- Updates material prices database and analyzes Bill of Material for competitiveness;
- Works closely with commodity management, sourcing team, engineering team, site SCM team, IPC team, site finance and financial cost engineers;
- Negotiates with suppliers on RFI / RFQ tenders;
- Participates in kick-off meetings and interacts with global customers units as well as counterparts in other regions;
- Consolidates, tabulates, analyzes and reports on various commitment and performance metrics, analyze cost variances.
- 0-2 years relevant SCM, CM, planning or finance background is advantage;
- Bachelor s degree in related field (Commerce or Engineering), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Combination of relevant work experience and Education is acceptable;
- Negotiation skill: ability to negotiate with internal (sales /solution architect/business development, CFT) and external suppliers for piece part pricing, tooling cost, inbound freight cost and others terms and conditions;
- Good skills in usage of computer tools and systems - MS office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access), Networking and Internet searching, SAP knowledge (MM module) is advantage;
- Effective communication, good skills for Oral & Written, English - Good spelling, grammar;
- Cost measurement & Controls ??? Premium, negative variance, proactive monitoring;
- Commodity knowledge ??? ability to read a part number and compare quotations;
- Engineering basics ability to understand component attributes;
- Suppliers orientation for supplier selection, quoting for build to print commodities;
- Ability to evaluate and prioritize a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion, while working with frequent and ongoing interruptions.
