Responsible for the procurement execution of assigned goods and services in accordance with the quality, delivery and pricing expectations of Plexus Corp. and Plexus Corp. customers.
Main accountabilities:
- Purchase in accordance with the guidelines set forth by Plexus management and the customer’s contract
- Makes tactical buying decisions with respect to the placement and management of all purchases within assigned MRP portfolio to meet scheduled demand. This process encompasses order placement, rescheduling, cancellation of items and/or receiving and invoice issue reconciliation and approval.
- Align correct quantity of parts with scheduled due dates
- Placing purchase orders for parts that have liability at the component lead-time only
- Negotiate lead-time constraints with suppliers to negate missed commitment dates.
- Review all delivery issues and take appropriate corrective action to avoid schedule impact
- Responsible for managing all Obsolete, Inactive & Excess Inventory items in accordance with OIX guidelines
- Use correct and approved forms to conduct Purchasing activities.
- Meet with suppliers to discuss contracts, price negotiations, lead-time issues, open order status, new product lines, etc.
- A minimum of 3 years of similar or related experience is preferred.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related discipline is preferred.
- ISM certification and/or APICS certification is beneficial.
- Very good English.
