Norway-based Grenland Group is a full-service engineering, procurement and construction company aiming to strengthen the business of its clients. The company consists of two divisions; Technology and Fabrication. Grenland Group has activities at 14 locations in Norway with a total of more than 1000 employees. In addition, the company has engineering subsidiaries in Houston and Kuala Lumpur.
Grenland Group Technology’s main engineering centre in Norway has modern office facilities located near Sandefjord International Airport Torp. Here in Sandefjord, highly qualified personnel are engaged in multidiscipline projects, design and detail engineering. The company is capable of undertaking the full range of engineering, from conceptual design to complete turnkey projects.
We are seeking engineers with experience within at least one of the following fields:
• Design, specification and selection of main and utility marine systems
• Good knowledge of classification rules for ships and offshore units
• Development of system diagrams including control systems
• Reliability Analysis for marine systems
• Material selection for piping and valves
• Knowledge of propulsion and ancillary systems, power generation and distribution
• Operational experience from ship systems
Main tasks:
• Development of system diagrams
• Specification of main and utility equipment (pumps, valves, heat exchangers, air and inert gas compressors)
• Evaluation and selection of equipment
• Evaluation of sparing philosophy for equipment
Requested qualifications:
• Experience in design/construction and fabrication of ships and offshore units
• Good communication skills and a good knowledge of the English language
• Experience with classification of ships and offshore units
• Experience from larger marine projects
• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision, and with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to prepare adequate documentation of work and reports to client, authorities and classification societies
• Experience with development of marine system diagrams for offshore installations and tankers
• Knowledge of thermodynamics for specification of heat transfer equipment
M.Sc. Engineers Marine Constructions
Strength calculations on fixed and floating constructions.
FEM analyses
Ship and rig design, hydrodynamics, hydrostatics
Knowledge of some of these computer programs: Xsteel, Inventor, Autocad, PDMS, Ansys, Wamit, Sacs, Staad, Sesam, Nauticus
