Skilled Welders required - using MIG mostly, partial use of TIG and ARC. Mild steel welding on large scale construction. Offering hourly rate of ¿8.60/hour, (first month on trial at ¿7.50/hr).
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Welds new installations, repairs and fabricates equipment using equipment and techniques such as: oxy-acetelyne, electric arc, heli-arc, MIG and TIG welding.
Repairs steam coils, refrigeration coils, structural steel, pipe work, etc., which involves welding separately or in combination: aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron and other exotic alloys.
Performs welder duties in confined areas and at heights as required.
Maintains materials, stock and records as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
The minimum qualifications necessary for acceptable (satisfactory) job performance are:
Level of Formal Education
Education to an acceptable level.
Must possess a valid Certificate as a high pressure electric arc welder.
Experience
At least 3 years of related experience.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to maintain records as required.
Ability to read and work off blueprints.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and contractors.
Ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements
Capable of performing the duties as assigned.
Must be able to work in tight areas.
Must be able to work on scaffolds.
