Senior Geotechnical Engineer, is UK based role. Reporting to the Principal Engineering Manager you will be responsible for delivering quality and value engineered designs across a wide range of geotechnical projects.
In particular, you will help to deliver:
Technically sound design solutions, including all associated modelling, calculations and reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (particularly Eurocode 7);
Projects to a programme, within budget and to the quality required.
Responsibilities
Develop designs in accordance with the Client’s requirements and relevant design standards to achieve cost effective solutions
Scope, plan and manage effective ground investigations to facilitate all project design requirements
Assist in the development and supervision of project team members
Represent the business stream in multi-disciplinary project teams
Prepare and check feasibility studies, outline designs and detailed designs, factual and interpretive reports, geotechnical appraisals / assessments and other technical documents as required
Development of engineering solutions and presentation of engineering options
Develop and maintain good working relationships with the Client and other relevant stakeholders
Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, particularly the CDM 2015 Regulations
Supervise team members including engineers, senior technicians and assistant/graduate engineers
Requirements
Hold a recognised degree; BSc, BEng, MEng or MSc in a geotechnical/geological science (or Civil Engineering + Geotechnics)
Be able to demonstrate at least 7 years relevant post graduate geotechnical design experience.
Be able to demonstrate experience in Ground Investigation, preparation of Specifications and managing GI’s.
Be capable of working under his/her own initiative, but within an integrated team environment.
Be Chartered (CEng, CGeol or equivalent) or working towards Chartership
Demonstrate experience of geotechnical design software for example; Geoslope, WALLAP, and MIDAS Soilworks (FE).
Have good written and oral communication skills.
Be able to understand a Client focused approach to service delivery
