Hotel, Cambridge ¿ A 4* Classic Contemporary Hotel

The Role: - reporting to the General Manager

- Create an excellent first impression to all visitors
- Develop a thorough knowledge of the hotel¿s computer system (RedSky Omega)
- Maximise all sales adhering to the company¿s policy on revenue management for accommodation sales and taking every opportunity to up sell
- Work closely with the Sales and Reservation Manager to ensure that our website and those belonging to third parties are kept up to date
- Conduct staff training and demonstrate excellent customer service
- Work alongside Reservation Manager to oversee individual and group bookings
- Work alongside the Night Manager to ensure that Reception is run as smoothly during the night as it is during the day
- Liaise with the Conference and Banqueting Co-ordinators to ensure accurate conference and private dining billing
- Liaise with Sales and Marketing Manager for promotions
- Work closely with the Group Accountant (not based in Cambridge) to ensure accurate billing, controlling sales ledger, signing off commission invoices and ensuring banking and floats including petty cash is accurate with a full paperwork trail to back it up
- Working a mix of shifts to include some early and late shifts as well as ¿on¿ shifts on a 5 day out of 7 basis to ensure full reception cover and the needs of the business are met
- Duty Management ( usually one/two shifts) on a weekly basis where you will be expected to be as hands on as necessary ( no sleepovers required)
- Ensuring that the customer ¿ regular or otherwise ¿ feels as if Hotel is a home away from home
- Potentially tronc master for the hotel

The Person:
- An experienced Reception Manager looking for a move, or a Head Receptionist looking for a step up
- Will need a flexible attitude to working hours, a good head for business and excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Will use reservation and revenue management experience to help maximise room occupancy
- Should have good financial awareness
- Should have excellent customer service skills, able to handle customer complaints in the first instance before referring ( if necessary to senior management)
- Well groomed
- Needs to be an effective organiser and problem solver, able to delegate responsibilities successfully
- With energy and enthusiasm, they will lead and direct the department and the team of Receptionists using your excellent team leadership skills
- With a helpful, friendly and professional manner, they will use initiative and be pro-active
