Au Pairs
Au Pairs must be available for five hours a day and must be willing to do housework as well as childcare. They will be expected to babysit two to three times a week. They must have been interviewed and have two references, not from family, one of which must be from childcare. These references must have been checked. They must have a current medical report and police report. They must have at least basic English. Ideally they should be 19 or over. They will be able to go to English classes. They will be free two days a week. They will receive £70-75 pocket money.
Au Pair Plus
All the above checks as Au Pair apply to Au Pair Plus. They must have at least basic English. They will work for approximately seven hours a day. They will be able to go to English classes, which may have to be in the evening. They will be free two days a week. Ideally they should be 19 or over. They will receive £80-90 pocket money.
Mothers’ Helps
All the checks as for an au pair. Their English must be at least intermediate as they will probably not be able to go to school except possibly for some evenings. They should have some childcare experience. They will be expected to work for 8-10 hours a day. Ideally, they should be over 20 years of age. They usually be free 1.5 to two days a week. They will receive £120-150 per week.
Housekeepers
All checks as above. English should be at least intermediate to good. Their duties will encompass all household duties and possibly childcare. They must be prepared to take a position of responsibility for the running of a home. They will be expected to work 8-10 hours a day. They will be free from 1- 1.5 days a week. They will receive £200-250 per week.
