Job Description & Responsibilities:
We require a Senior MS SQL Developer / Analyst and technical lead to join a high caliber team working on a very complex, large, fully scalable world-leading e-commerce web site. You will be required to technical lead our affiliate program and MIS reporting systems which is used by tens of thousands of webmasters paying out 10’s of millions of $’s. Your primary responsibilities will
be:
· To maintain, develop and support our existing affiliate product that tracks web traffic,
revenue, conversion, campaign monitoring and payouts to our mobile, internet and hotel
affiliates.
· To maintain, develop and support our internal MIS systems that provides various internal reporting requirements at individual, team, department and company levels.
· To research and develop new technologies, tools and methodologies to continuously improve the reliably, performance, flexibility and scalability of tracking and reporting on traffic, conversion, revenue capture and other related data
· To understand different user’s needs and to work with various departments and affiliates in collecting requirements definitions in order to define a new generation affiliate reporting and MIS systems that meet both current and future requirements from all the different types of users
· Being the technical lead in your specialist area and the company’s traffic and reporting guru !
· Implement requirements, write code, perform unit test, integrate into our various high
performance e-commerce websites and follow through the product design/development
lifecycle.
· To develop a suite of management reports that meet the requirements of the various department in the company
· To work with the Data analyst to define and produce various time series KPI (Key
Performance Indicators) that track performance of various key areas of the websites
· To define and build a system that enables tracking of customer behavior as they browse the site
· Provide ad-hoc management reports
· Day-to-day management and mentoring of your team
· Contribute to the success of the company
Skills Required:
· Exceptional Microsoft SQL 2005 Developer and database designer in complex, large,
high performance and scalable databases, with substantial traffic load
· 3+ years of practical, hands-on SQL development experience and 5+ years working
experience
· Thorough knowledge of T-SQL and optimizations, best practice techniques, tips & tricks,
common mistakes
· Experience with project management and formalized development processes
· Knowledge of PHP an advantage
· Knowledge of capturing and analyzing web traffic useful, but not critical
Candidate Profile:
· Experience in managing a small team of developers as their technical leader
· Enjoys working with numbers and thrives on data analysis queries and report generation
· Comfortable with working with end users in defining their reporting requirements
· Understands the need to follow procedures and is able to create functional and system
specifications
· Good algorithmic and implementation skills with logical, analytical and structured mind
· Ability to think out of the box in finding creative solutions to problems
· Good communicational skills and the ability to motivate other members of the team
· Reasonable familiarity with spoken and written English
