The duration of the fellowship is one year, renewable up to a maximum of three years. The subject is the development of numerical code, by using finite differences or finite elements, for the simulation and optimization of electron submicron and nanometer devices.
The ideal candidate should have a PhD or MSc, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. The candidate are request to have knowledge of transport theory, numerical methods for partial differential equations, statistical methods.
The position is financed by the EU project RTN Marie Curie on Coupled Multiscale Simulation and Optimization in Nanoelectronics - COMSON (http://www.comson.org/), according to the Marie Curie rules. A position for an Electrical/Electronic Engineer or Scientist (Msc in Physics or Mathematics) with experience between 0 and 4 years is open. The host institution is the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Catania, Italy. Politehnica University of Bucharest is a partner of the COMSON RTN.
